Community Relations

Alexis is in charge of getting the word out about Camp Edventure More. If you read about EdMo in a local paper, magazine or in your school newsletter, Alexis was probably the reason it was there. If you didn't catch it the first time, check out some of the press we've gotten this year at http://www.edventuremore.com/summer_camp/press.htm. Alexis has also updated our website's school year pages with ICE extension ideas for teachers and suggested readings to help kids learn more about science. There are lots of activities families can do at home, too! Here you can see her busy at work reasearching some new ideas. What cool new experiments do you think she's going to find? Find out at http://www.edventuremore.com/ice_extensions.php

At the Office

When you call to sign up for summer camp, more than likely you've talked to Katie, our enrollment-taker extrordinaire. Here she is hard at work taking another sign up. If you haven't called yet you better hurry up, dates are filling up fast!
Katie was the Science Instructor at the San Anselmo site last year, and will return as Camp Director this summer! We love talking to all of you and getting to know about you before you join us this summer. It's especially fun to hear your stories from last year. If you have some fun, funny or heartwarming stories from camp let us know! We will add them to our blog for past and future campers to share and enjoy.

EdMo's ICE Program

Many of you are familiar with our school-year program, but for those of you who didn't know, we do Exploratorium-designed science experiments in classrooms all year long! This is Lindsay, one of our awesome science presenters getting ready to make ice cream with a 1st grade class. There's a lot of preparation involved in getting ready to make ice cream, but it's worth it in the end. Not only do you learn about the three states of matter, liquids, solids and gases, but in the end you get to eat a yummy treat! Lindsay's favorite part is hearing from the students she visited. Here she is reading Thank You letters from the second graders at Glorietta School. They loved making and launching Stomp Rockets! Thanks for letting us know, kids!

If you want to do Edventure More science in your classrooms let us know! We are already reserving spaces for the 2007-2008 school year.

It was put together by our Community Relations Manager, Alexis, but will be updated all summer long by your Camp Directors, the Camp Founders Ed and Sharon, and even fellow campers and families! If you have a story or photos to share, let us know! We'd love to have you be a part of our online community.
Happy reading and see you this summer!
