Hello From Alameda!!

Countdown to camp has officially begun! Just a few days from now kids will be cheering, singing, learning and playing in our brand new site in Alameda! We can't wait! Here is a quick bio of Brian Hernandez, Alameda's camp director, and a quote about what he is excited about this summer.

After spending the last 11 summers at Berkeley Tuolumne Camp in Yosemite, Brian is finally ready to spend the summer in his beloved hometown, but not at all ready to leave the camp world. Brian studied Earth Science and Environmental studies at UC Santa Cruz, and spent 4 years working in Special Education in Santa Cruz elementary schools. He has lived in Oakland the last 2 years, working with kids in a variety of environments: classroom assistant, after school, substitute, behavioral therapist and more. He is currently studying for his masters in Speech Pathology. His passions are kayaking, good food, traveling, A’s baseball, goofing off and working with children of all ages. Try to catch one of his unique juggling acts or just drop in to say hi.

“Summer camp has always been a special time of my life. I’m super excited to deliver on Edventure More’s goal of combining positive vibes, high quality curriculum, and an enthusiastic professional staff. I’m looking forward to learning and playing with the campers, creating life-long memories and becoming part of the Alameda Edmo Community.”
